Everyday you probably put something in the trash that could and/or should be recycled. Below you'll find information that will help you take a step towards keeping our environment as clean and as healthy as possible.
The Wireless Foundation - Donate your old cell phone. By doing so, you may help raise funds for charities, benefit victims of domestic violence, or simply accelerate learning and prepare our children's classrooms.
InterConnection - Donate your old computer to help make Internet technology accessible to non-profit organizations in developing countries.
Recycle batteries, lightbulbs, empty computer ink cartidges, and wire clothes hangers. Some of these items have toxic chemicals and it is imperative that they be recycled. You should be able to locate your closest local recycling centers on the internet or in the phonebook.
Note: Alkaline batteries, Heavy Duty batteries and standard incandescent lightbulbs cannot be recycled. Therefore, they can be placed in trash.

Junk Mail
Fight back! Junk mail is an incredible nuisance that most of us, if not all, can do without. The best way to do this is to make them pay, literally. Just send it right back to them. Write, Refused on the front of the envelope and put it back in the mail. That way, they'll most likely take you off their mailing list in response to the returned mail, AND they'll have to pay the postage a second time. The only way companies will learn is if you can make them pay more than they budget for. Returning junk mail to them is one way of doing exactly that.
